Johnson & Johnson Baby Bottle
Problem: Johnson & Johnson were looking to expand their existing line of distinctively angled baby bottles, allowing the use of disposable bags with their ergonomic design. Unfortunately, they found that trying to insert the bags around the bottle’s bend was awkward, resulting in tearing & spillage. They asked us to develop some way to maintain the angled bottle design while eliminating these issues.
Solution: After some investigation of other designs, we settled on a simple snap-together angled swivel, allowing the bottle to easily transition from perfectly straight to the desired angle. This solution was considerably less expensive & more robust than other designs.
Patent Protection: With our design, Johnson & Johnson obtained two utility patents and five design patents to protect the swiveling bottle mechanism.
