Helping Inventors Since 1995

The First Step

Our inventor services begin with a 2-hour meeting with one of our experienced engineers to talk about your project. The meeting will give you feedback on feasibility, manufacturability, and potential issues. We’ll talk about the product development process and answer any questions. This consultation costs $600, and most of our projects cost over $10,000. Unfortunately, we do not offer investment or financing services.

How do we help inventors?

At Creative Engineering, we offer a range of services to assist inventors in developing their product ideas. Our team of experienced engineers and designers work closely with inventors to refine their concepts and create detailed design specifications. From rapid prototyping to technical feasibility assessments, we provide the necessary support to bring their ideas from conception to reality.

  • Our team comprises engineering experts with decades of experience designing and manufacturing various physical products. Based on this experience, we can advise inventors on their project’s difficulty level and predict overall cost magnitude.

  • Using our in-house 3D printer farm, laser cutter, and machine shop, we help test your idea by creating physical models.

  • Creative has the engineering ability to move your idea from concept to a fully manufacturable device.

Inventor Success

So you have an idea. What’s next?

Determining whether an invention idea is worth pursuing is crucial for inventors to effectively focus their time and resources. These steps can help you determine how to proceed and when to seek our help.

  • Conducting a thorough internet search to determine if others have already created your product idea is always a good idea. It is ok if the product already exists, but you have to consider what would make your version more attractive in the market. Features, price, materials, sustainability, and sales methods are differentiating factors that could make your product idea a success.

  • It’s common for new inventors to be secretive about their ideas, but seeking external opinions is essential. Without disclosing too many details about your product, ask trusted friends and family if they have experience with the problem your product would solve. They may give you good feedback on required features or improvements that can be made to your original idea. Don’t take criticism too harshly, but be mindful of the feedback you receive.

  • Write down everything you have learned in the previous two steps during your research. Create basic sketches of your product idea and try to highlight all the essential features. Communicating the vision to others is a significant factor in creating your product. The more material you have, the better.

You should consider your skillset. What are you able to do on your own? Where will you need help? It’s important to realize that seeking outside help will come with costs. You should make a budget for what you are willing to spend on the development and production of your product.

  • Now that you know exactly what you are trying to create, it’s time to start. If you have the skills to make preliminary prototypes independently, that’s how you should start. Otherwise, this may be the time to ask for our help.
